I grew up on Long Island, outside New York City and went to work at Belmont Racetrack to study horses when I was in graduate school and that is where I met my husband. He is from Dodge City, Kansas and has always been around horses. We both became teachers in the NYC school system and eventually moved to Vermont where we built a log cabin in the woods in Weather Head Hollow outside Brattleboro . When we lived in New York, I painted thoroughbreds, in Vermont, draft horses and now that I live in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, I paint the horses, goats, cows, cats, dogs and chickens around us.
